Taken yesterday. Today has not been photography weather.
Status:
Bit tired in the brain today so mostly taking it easy, doing a few stretches, tidying the kitchen, resting and digesting. Got a few promising tabs open but haven’t really had the capacity to read them, so no reading links today. “That’ll give your readers a chance to catch up” says Fiona who last reported 138 tabs in her browser. Which is insane.
Overnight listening:
Watching:
- ContraPoints: Saw (1:36:13) - Natalie takes on the philosophy of the Saw franchise, which reminded me a bit of when Lindsay Ellis used the Transformers films to teach us about film studies.
- Colin Furze: The MAGLEV skateboard (22:02) - Furze is always just on the edge of “nope, too much” for me but I can’t deny his experiments are fascinating and very well explained. (And I’m clearly not his target audience. I wonder if the great-neph knows about him?)
- Buñuel live at Supersonic Festival 2025 (13:09) - Eugene of Oxbow still doing that thing he does so well.
- Hanna Spencer’s maiden speech (8:02) - yas queen.
Telly:
- Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - excellent season finale. Overall I’d say four stars, five for the top and tail episodes, three for the middling middle ones, five for the teaching cast (Reno!), three for the kids. Next time, a bit more Treking, a bit less Academy please! (Know that I think kids in sci-fi are great - I loved Skeleton Crew!)
