Big winds today, coming from the east, which is unusual, and quite warm with it so being outside has been both dramatic and pleasant. Rest and digest continues so I’ve mostly been in the hammock, clearing the tabs.

- How to make a microbe shirt — This is amazing and quite gorgeous. Cass Marketos has been experimenting with partially composting cotton t-shirts and the result is sort of like tie-die but more mycelium-ish. I also love how the process is unpredictable and can’t be speeded up, making them properly limited. Very keen to try this!
- Social media is now parasocial media — danah boyd, who was there at the beginning and taking notes, on the evolution, naming and subsequent decline of “social media” as a concept. “Attending to parasocial connections may be pleasurable for consumers, but doing so does not strengthen the collective social fabric. It is possible to experience loneliness despite spending hours emotionally engaged with others’ dramas if those interactions are not reciprocated." I keep circling a conclusion that fascism wins when we don’t talk to our friends and neighbours.
- ‘People assume we’re grifters’: disabled Britons report rise in abuse over blue badges — No-one’s said “you don’t look disabled” to me yet, but then I rarely leave the house. As I start to venture out I fully expect some Daily Mail-pilled eejit to come at me. Fun times.

- I kind of fixed my iCloud Photos problem and all I got was two blog posts and probably years off my life.
- Parkrun and other sports bodies threatened with legal action over transgender inclusion — The American far-right evangelical anti-abortionists are coming. Here’s a campaign against them.
