Status:
Rest day after two sequential days of therapy sessions. Mostly pottering around the house, half-cleaning and sort-of tidying things.
Reading:
- The Inventory of Loss - What chronic illness takes that no one warns you about — I could quote so much of this with the comment “this is how it is for me” that I’d just be reposting the whole article. Just read it.
- ‘Oh my God, did my dad and I fight’: Olivia Colman on triggers, trans rights and sexual regret — Intervewing her and other cast and crew for the new film Jimpa, which looks really good.
- The present crisis: A conversation on attacks and repression in London. — I’m trying to read more Jewish voices on anti-semitism in the UK. This discussion after the Golders Green stabbings was very illuminating.
- Make your own micro forest — A really nice introduction to the Miyawaki method of reforestation which involves densely planting a variety of native trees in a small place and letting them compete for resources. Someone has done this on our allotment and I wasn’t sure what it meant until now. Looks really promising and, most importantly, achievable on a community scale.
Watching:
- Luxury pencil sharpener restoration (16:28) — There a fine line, I find, between restoring and cleaning and this video is mostly cleaning, though that’s not a problem as I’d never really seen inside one of these before.

- Absens by MMMD — I described this to Fi as “Ottoman ambient drone” though that’s not remotely accurate and probably insulting. sounds great though.
