Over the last week the rabbits' biological systems have been instructing a significant amount of their fur to leave the building and as such we have had some buns with rather tufty butts. Because they don’t run through spiky undergrowth it’s up to us to groom them, something they really do not appreciate. It’s a fairly regular occurrence, particularly when the temperature changes and new coats are needed, but today was quite the haul, as seen in the photo above.
The main adventure today was my bro-in-law’s 70th birthday picnic which, unless I’m forgetting something, was the largest social event I’d been to in a good couple of years. A bit of anxiety beforehand, of course, as I’d be meeting new people but it turned out to be lovely. Everyone was sensible and quiet and no-one minded me sitting alone on the periphery. I even managed to take a group photo, organising people like I used to do at weddings, although I needed a good lie down afterwards.
The weather helped. After days of paralysing heat it was just warm enough to be pleasant with a nice breeze. Though I do see that after a brief reprieve we’re not going much below 29 degrees next week. Might leave the window coverings on for a bit longer.
As such I haven’t done my usual level reading today, and that which I have read I haven’t had the capacity to write about. Enjoy.
