
Lots of steady rain today for the first time in what must be a couple of months if not longer. The lawn was properly soaked.
Been feeling a bit tired in the head today. Mental activities needed extra effort and result in fuzziness and a sense of failure, which is never nice. Needed to pull back and rest the brain, which is never easy as a fatigued brain does not want to rest. It wants to think all the thoughts.

I somehow missed Corin Tucker’s first band (loads of cool bands passed me by, though I’m sure they were played on John Peel) and am very much enjoying listening to them afresh. Unsurprisingly they come over like an unfiltered proto-Sleater-Kinney.
I wonder what it’s like to have juvenilia that you feel proud to revisit, let alone let other people hear. My stuff from when I was that age makes me shudder. Is it easier for musicians to channel teenage angst without being total cringe? Maybe some kids are just really good.
