Bit of a burnout day today. Everything’s just a little bit hard, a little bit frustrating. I want to do all the things but I know that if I try I’ll crash, so I’m trying to stay still without going stir crazy. All my usual strategies are working as best they can but it’s just a question of waiting it out and recovering from the fatigue.
Here’s some stuff I read today, without commentary due to burnout.
- Subterranean salad: underground farmers seek solution to food crisis in disused UK mines
- A party, 101 princesses and an eccentric millionaire: Jon Ronson on a mysterious castle – and what it taught him about masculinity in crisis
- 3 places you can’t install plug-in solar panels — Wooden fences is the headline.
- How this 1960s ex-council house is managing to stay cool without air con
- Auntie v influencers: why YouTubers are ready for battle with the BBC — I have lots to say about this, mostly about the delusion that YouTube is a neutral platform that does not already favour certain types of content and (by accident or design) promotes specific ideologies and viewpoints. Maybe another day.
