Had a visit from my sister this afternoon which was very welcome. It would have been our mum’s 80th birthday this week so we’re going to try and spend a bit of time with all the family photos she kept, which I currently have in boxes upstairs.
Took delivery of some tubes and clips for the water butt project and spent a couple of hours fitting them to see if they leak. Happy to say the tubes and clips fit perfectly, but there’s still a teeny tiny leak from one of the fittings. So I’m planning to go to the hardware store tomorrow and get some plumbing tape and see if that does it. Otherwise we’re so very nearly there.
Today’s links:
- The 101 plays itself — Taking live footage from a static traffic webcam and turning the visual patterns into music. I’ve seen similar things over the years, one particularly notable one taking footage of birds on telegraph wires and transcoding it to a modified piano. This is a particularly neat version producing a soundtrack that I don’t mind playing in the background, albeit based on a rather ugly scene.
- Statement from RNLI Chief Executive Peter Sparkes — “The RNLI’s people represent the very best in our society, they selflessly give up their time to keep others safe. Yet they and their families are being threatened by those who would hide behind a balaclava or a keyboard."
