Rest day, mostly pottering in the garden and making the finishing tweaks to the rabbit run water harvesting system. I’m happy that it’s now good enough to run through the winter and save up enough water to get the lawn through the next drought. Why do we care about the lawn? Because it’s rabbit food!

• Horse piss and dirty honey: on the more-than-human in (and beyond) Haraway’s Staying with the Trouble — It seems I can be forgiven for not managing to read Staying with the Trouble given it’s an academic text that assumes deep knowledge of what it refers to, but I remain fascinated by the headlines and am grateful to Paul for giving us an in to this concept of the more-than-human.
• Amazon to launch Ring ‘neighbourhood watch’ app in UK — There are two kinds of people on the street chat group. Those who have networked spycam doorbells and those who think those people should chill out, man. With any luck this dystopian sounding app will become a place the former can go and be paranoid together while the rest of us can get on with building community around important stuff like sharing tools and giving away random junk from our cupboards.
